What is stress, is a question that we must all ask ourselves today because we experience stress several times a day. It can be described as an imbalance between the perception. The term comes from the Latin stringere which means "tight". This Anglicism meant "state of distress" in the 17th century and referred to the notion of adversity.
The slightest thing can trigger a stress reaction. What most of us don't know is that stress is an organic reaction that is mainly neurobiological and hormonal but also chemical when we are confronted with something that creates tension or pressure.
It can also be called a physical reaction that prepares our bodies to be alert. These changes are triggered by the release of adrenaline (a hormone present in our body) which causes an increase in heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar (blood sugar concentration) and disrupts intestinal transit. This is why it is necessary to keep an eye on your stress level. Stress has existed since the beginnings of mankind. It is a natural way of adapting to our environment without any positive or negative connotations.
